Prefer compact and light weigh over GM.įor sure I will post images when my lens arrives. Would make a fine pair also for stills (do little video). Wish for a light weight and compact 24-105 PZ version too.
PZ can be very handy when using a remote and when the camera is mounted on a tripod. Have the 4/16-35 but that is a larger, heavier and bulkier non PZ lens. Please post images when you get the lens. I plan to use on my A7C in combo with FE 24-105mm f/4.0 G. They state a ship date of June 24th (I am hoping it ships sooner). I pre-ordered from B&H when it was first open to order. I haven't seen the test results yet, but given that the lens composition has changed, I am expecting it to perform better at the 24-35mm range - time will tell. Yes, it is 30% lighter than the Sony 16-35 F4 ZA, but it replaces some components with lighter ones. The lens is specifically made for power zoom (i.e. With a less expensive lens the question is consistency. If it has any interest, photo is uploaded to saw numerous posts on this and at least one reviewer suggested it was sharper than the GM 16-35. It will go perfectly together with my 24-105mm F4 and a fast prime for travel. (I normally use RAW has a little bit of softness at very corners and edges, but I dont think this is an issue and it is still much sharper than my Voigtlander 15mm stopped down! It is an absolutely non-scientific test, randoms subjects and brick walls, just to check it out. It is perfect as a walk-around and travel lens! I used only the zoom ring and that works fine. I went for a walk and took some test shots.
